Day 4: Visit to Kadoorie Farm

Hey all! Alyssa here with another full day in Hong Kong. Instead of taking the MTR like usual, today the group decided to be adventurous and bus it over to Kadoorie Farm. There, we got to see some of Southeast Asia's wildlife up close. Most of them were rescue animals living in Kadoorie since their upbringing in captivity made them unsuited for life in the wild.

It was a great opportunity to learn about the local flora and fauna, as well as the wildlife trade and environmental issues Hong Kong still faces today.

After exploring the area, we had a free afternoon. Some people opted to stay in Kadoorie to do some hiking, while others went to the Ocean Park to ride roller coasters and see pandas.

I spent the afternoon wandering around the market stands and food stalls several blocks away from the hotel. The neon lights, bustling streets, assorted goods and lively atmosphere make up yet another unique experience to be had in this incredible city.

For dinner, the HCI majors and a few others met with Adam Newbold, a graphic designer working for the Hong Kong branch of the Savannah College of Art and Design. We had such a blast talking about UX careers and opportunities, before we knew it the day was over!
